WikkiTimes sampled opinions of students who said surviving has been difficult in the face of the not abating inflation.

A student in Abuja, Gloria Abraham told WikkiTimes that eating has been a difficult task for her.

“The high cost of things is really telling on us, because firstly, you need to have food in your stomach to be able to run your daily activities, and when you are hungry, you can neither learn or hear anything you are been taught, and yet it’s still this same food that is been inflated. It has even affected our cost of living and house rent is also increasing, we have to conjoin ourselves, atleast four or five in a room, not just because we want it, but because so we could be able to afford the rentage fee, and help each other in terms of feeding. “ she said.

Another student, Onyekachi Precious lamented the declining value of Naira in the country.

“ I will say that Nigeria currency has lost value at this time/period. You can imagine I took #15,000 to the market to get foodstuffs and was devastated to the point of crying, even the price of yesterday has changed by 80% increase in just hours , and nobody is doing anything about it.”
Patience stated that carrying out assignments given in school is almost an impossible task.

Bridging our Differences as Nigerians: A Path to Unity

“Cost of printing assignments and even handout is very high, what then would a student learn without the needed learning materials/handout. Let’s not even talk about food, because even when you have the raw foodstuffs, you might end up not having the ingredients to cook them, not to talk of Gas; I even feel for our parents sending us money, it’s not smooth with them too, but they still have to keep up with their responsibilities”she told WikkiTimes.

Other students who spoke to WikkiTimes expressed concern that the situation seems not abating , they pleaded with the government to intervene so as to ensure that the crisis does not worsen beyond what it is .

Nigerians have continued to lament the inflation facing the country even as the government at different levels continue to promise interventions and supportive policies to quell rising inflation.
