The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III has declared today the end of the holy month of Ramadan and Friday, April 21 as the Eid-el-Fitr (Sallah) celebration.
This is followed by the sighting of the Shawwal crescent in various parts of the country as confirmed by the moon sighting committee.
In his nationwide broadcast, the Sultan urged the Muslim Ummah to make their celebrations peacefully and pray for Nigeria’s prosperity.
The sighting of the moon marks the end of 29 days of Ramadan fasting and signifies the celebration of the 1444 (2023) eid-al-fitr.
