Nigeria’s Super Eagles will face Benin on September 7 before traveling to Rwanda for their second match on the 10th with coach Augustine Eguavoen on the touchline after being appointed once more as the interim manager after the initial contract conditions with German Coach Bruno Labbadia failed to reach conclusions.
Eguavoen is viewed as the interim manager for the Super Eagles in recent times with some successes and but not without his failures on the other hand.
The Super Eagles are determined to make a profound impact in the qualifiers and will strive to initiate their campaign on a resounding note.

In the goalkeeping, the first choice Stanley Nwabali alongside Maduka Okoye, and Amos Omorogie will feature.
Super Eagles defense has captain William Ekong, Semi Ajayi, Calvin Bassey, Olisah Ndah, Ola Aina, Bright Osayi-Samuel, and Bruno Onyemaechi.
In the midfield, Alex Iwobi, Frank Onyeka, Alhasaan Yusuf, Wilfred Ndidi, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, and Raphael Onyedika are posed to play while the forward boast of Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, Victor Osimhen, Moses Simon, Kelechi Iheanacho, Taiwo Awoniyi, and Victor Boniface.
With Augustine Eguavoen in charge, the Super Eagles will host Benin at the Godswill Akpabiao International Stadium in Uyo.
The Super Eagles had earlier lost to Benin in a 2:1 in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Benin has Gernot Rohr as their technical adviser who was once the manager of the Super Eagles in recent years.
The Eagles will travel down to Kigali to play Rwanda later in the month in their quest to conquer their opponents in the 2 opening fixtures for Group D in the AFCON Qualifiers
