Supreme Court verdict: Crisis rocks Bauchi APC

Following the Supreme Court verdict that affirmed the victory of Bala Mohammed of the Peoples Democratic Party, it appears all is not well with the opposition All Progressives Congress.

A Pro APC group, MA Abubakar Solidarity Forever has accused some party stalwarts of disloyalty and sabotage, which they said contributed to the failure of the Party during the elections and court cases that saw it lost to the PDP at the Supreme Court.

“The APC as a family cannot afford to lose Bauchi State in 2023 general election by folding their arms to allow some selfish, unpatriotic, greedy and miscreants among us to take over the party to the slaughter house most especially those who are aspiring to become president and state governor in the next general election”, chairman of the forum Abubakar Gabi has said.

The forum which accuses some APC stalwarts in the state of holding secret meetings at different locations with the intent to destabilize the party says such elements of disloyalty will not be tolerated.

When asked who the disloyal members were, Nasiru Chigari, a member of the MA Abubakar solidarity forum said “they are those that contested and lost election during the party primaries, they are now trying to bring disunity with the intention of creating factions in the party so that the national working committee will be forced to dissolve the leadership at the state level and appoint interim Chairman” he said.

The group further reiterated support to the former governor, MA Abubakar during its launching ceremony held at the state APC Secretariat and also attended by top party officials including state chairman Uba Nana, his deputy, Director General APC 2019 campaign organization Aminu Danmaliki among other chieftains.

“We lost at the 2019 general elections, at the elections petition tribunal, Appeal Court judgement and Supreme Court verdicts have all come and gone, and therefore should be put behind.

” Under this circumstance, the only option left for all the teeming supporters of the former governor is to pray for God’s guidance towards looking for a better future while unity, understanding, tolerance, perseverance and therefore should be our guiding principle”, the group added.

Also speaking, the state APC Chairman Uba Nana said the party cannot afford to lose Bauchi State in 2023 general election; hence the need for all members to remain committed and united ahead of the next election.
