Chief Letep Dabang, suspended State Caretaker Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau, has called for calm among members of the party, following his suspension.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the APC National Secretariat had on Friday asked Dabang to step aside and allow investigations into his alleged anti-party activities.
Dabang in a statement on Saturday in Jos called on members of the party to avoid any action that may overheat the polity and bring disunity among members of the party. He said that the unity of the party was critical at this moment when elections were approaching. “
As a faithful and committed party man, I welcome any decision taken by the leadership of the party such as the latest one which is a mere investigation. “
I believe, I will be given a fair hearing and will overcome the temporary challenges. “I am calling on party faithful to believe in due process and we shall all smile in the end. “
No one should take the laws into his/her hands, rather let us keep working as a team. “I am committed to ensuring that the APC remains strong,” he said.(NAN)
