TABLE: Details of Nigeria’s New Sheriffs

Yesterday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu approved the immediate retirement of all service chiefs including the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba Alkali.

The retired service chiefs — Lucky Irabor, [Chief of Defence Staff], Faruk Yahaya [Chief of Army Staff], Awwal Gambo [Chief of Naval Staff], and Isiaka Amao [Chief of Air Staff]— were immediately replaced.

BREAKING: Tinubu Sacks Service Chiefs

Tinubu also approved the appointment of Adeniyi Adewale as the Acting Comptroller General of Customs. He took over from Hameed Ali.

The president, among other appointments, announced a former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nuhu Ribadu, as his new National Security Adviser (NSA). Ribadu replaced Babagana Monguno.

AVM H.B Abubakar Chief of Air StaffAir Vice Marshal HASSAN BALA ABUBAKAR was born on 11 September 1970. He hails from Shanono Local Government Area in Kano State. He enlisted into the NAF as a member of NDA RC 39 and commissioned Pilot Offr on 19 Sep 92.
DIG Kayode EgbetokunActing Inspector-General of PoliceDCP Kayode Egbetokun was a serving Deputy Commissioner of Police in Nigeria. He was also the acting Commissioner of Police in charge of the Lagos State Command.
Maj. Gen. EPA UndiandeyeChief of Defense IntelligenceHe hails from Bedia in Obudu Local Government Area of Cross River State. He was, until his appointment, the Commandant of the Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Centre, Jaji, Kaduna State.
Undiandeye was a member of the Troop Contributing Countries Working Group for developing the second edition of the United Nations Infantry Battalion Manual (UNIBAM) published in 2020 by the UN Office of military affairs. He is of the Intelligence Corps of the Nigerian Army.
