Bauchi State house of Assembly committee on flood and other environmental disaster has urged the federal and state governments to take flooding and gully erosion problem across the state with utmost seriousness for effective control of the problem.
Chairman of the Committee Bakoji Aliyu Bobo made the call when he led other members of the committee on fact finding mission to four local government areas of Toro, Dass Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro, ravaged by flood this rainy season.
Bakoji Aliyu Bobo called on relevant agencies and other kindhearted Nigerians to complement the efforts of the state and local governments in bringing succor to the affected individuals.
He said the committee aftercompiling its reports would advise the governments to deploy resources at its disposal in tackling therecurrent menace of flood and other environmental disaster.
