Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, has appointed Shiban Tikari, alongside other 133 aides into the state cabinet.

Taraba State Commissioner of Police CP. David Iloyanomon recently declared Shiban Tikari wanted in connection to murder case of a lawmaker.

Tikari, a former Takum LGA chairman, has been implicated by principal suspects in the murder of Hosea Ibi, a member of the Taraba state House of Assembly in 2017.

List of the appointees with Tikari as number 97.

The murder of Ibi in 2017 was linked to local political permutations in Takum. While Ibi represented Takum 1 constituency, Tikari chaired the local government council at the time.

Tikari has evaded justice and has been at large over his alleged involvement in the case.

However, Taraba State Chief Judge, Justice Joel Filibus Agya, had chided the police for failure to apprehend and prosecute Tikari.

Earlier in April this year, CP Iloyanomon declared Tikari wanted and noted that they are working to have him arrested.

“We are looking for him. We recently gathered that he has left the state, we have been trying to arrest him for possible prosecution, anywhere he is, we must get him arrested, it’s just a matter of time,” the police commissioner had said.

The State Commissioner of Information, Zainab Jalingo, told newsmen in Jalingo that “his candidacy had just been withdrawn pending final court judgment on his trial.”
