Gunmen Friday night stormed the residence of Nasiru Ahmed Kiyawa, the chairman of Kiyawa Local Government Area of Jigawa State, kidnapping his two wives.
The politician told BBC Hausa that the terrorists invaded his house after Isha’i prayer, Daily Trust reports.
“They fired twice at my door before entering,” the chairman said. “From there, they took my two wives, they are still holding them hostage.”

Police spokesman in Jigawa, Lawan Adam Shiisu confirmed the incident, saying they received an emergency call and immediately sent officers to the scene of the crime.
According to him, the terrorists had whisked away the victims before police arrived at the scene, adding that officers of the command had been deployed to various parts of the local council for a rescue mission.
He also said the police would welcome any information that could lead to the kidnappers’ capture.
