Terrorists Invited from Neighbouring Gombe Trapped in Bauchi

On Wednessday, two terrorists suspected to be kidnappers terrorsisng Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State were killed by locals in Tabla, one of the troubled villages in the axis.

WikkiTimes learnt that the terrorsists were eliminated while trying returning to their community, Kumo in Gombe State.

Before they were killed, the terrorists revealed that they were invited [for kidnapping operations] by their accomplice simply identified as Jume in Kongoro village, Ningi LGA.

A security source confirmed this to WikkiTimes, saying the incident took place around 10:30 AM, when the “two terrorists stopped in Tabla and asked for a road that would link theme to Tsangaya where they would board a car to their destination in their efforts to bypass security checkpoints in Ningi.”

The security operative added that the kidnappers told the villagers they were on their way to see their families, adding they would return to continue their operations.

He said the locals after interrogating the suspects were convinced they were parts of the terror groups wreaking havoc in the area.

The terrorists, thereafter, confessed they were responsible for abduction of wife and daughter of Lawan Maliya, a businessman in Yadagungume. They added that the abductees were released after the businessman paid N3.8 million in ransom.

According to them, the operation was carried out a day before they were caught. On the same, armed bandits attacked Kada and Gamji villages and killed seven locals.

While theyu were armless at the time they were caught, the locals recovered N300,000 from the terrorists before macheting them to death.

But the Bauchi Police Command claimed its operatives neutralised the terrorists.

In a statement signed by its spokesman, Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, said the operatives of the command around 08:00 PM “launched an attack operation at Tabla and Kongoro axis”.

“On receipt of the intelligence, operatives swiftly swung into action at the scene neutralized two of the bandits and evacuated the corps from the mountain and deposited them at Ningi General Hospital mortuary, the operatives recovered the sum of three hundred thousand naira from them,” the spokesman claimed.
