Terrorists are planning more prison attacks targeting facilities in Gusau, Birnin Kebbi, and Katsina on Friday to free their imprisoned fighters, PREMIUM TIMES reports.
Citing military intelligence sources, PREMIUM TIMES has reported that a warning signal has already been passed to the Nigerian Correctional Service.
The attacks according to the medium are “planned to be carried out successively, first, in Gusau, then Birnin Kebbi, and finally Katsina.”
Reports say the military told the correctional service, according to officials familiar with the transmission of the intelligence and documents sighted by PREMIUM TIMES.
Reports say the terrorists’ phased plan attack was due to insufficient logistical capabilities to strike simultaneously in three states.
The target locations WikkiTimes learnt are facilities in the northwest states of Kebbi, Katsina and Zamfara.
PREMIUM TIMES reports that the latest warning according to military intelligence reports say that the attack “may be staged” on Friday, 29 July.
WikkiTimes recalled that gunmen suspected to be bandits had on Tuesday, July 5 attacked Kuje Prison in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, freeing several inmates including high-profile terrorists.
