President Muhamadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Arch. Sunday Echono as the new Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND).
A press statement signed by the Director of Press and Public Relations of the Ministry of Education, Ben. Bem Goong, stated that Arch. Echono will take over from Prof. Suleiman Elias Bogoro whose five-year tenure ends on 18th March 2022.
The statement described Echono as “an accomplished technocrat who brought to the job, diverse wealth of experience spanning infrastructure, business administration, procurement management, ICT and the education sectors”.
Arch. Achono before his appointment served as Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Education and Member, Board of Trustees of TETfund among other important national assignments.
WikkiTimes recalled that Prof. Suleiman Elias Bogoro was first named as the Executive Secretary of TETFund in April 2014 by former President Goodluck Jonathan.
He was disengaged on 15 February 2016 by President Muhammadu Buhari, who later restored him as Executive Secretary of the Agency on January 21, 2019, having been examined and found not guilty.
