Salisu Ahmed Barau, former commissioner of religious affairs during Governor Isa Yuguda’s administration and Chairman APC unity and integrity forum has described those calling for the resignation of Uba Nana, the state chairman of the All Progressives Congress as political contractors.
SalisuBarau was reacting to a recent call made by the an APC stalwart, Alhaji HassanSherif, Sarkin Arewan Bauchi who appealed to Uba Nana to resign,citing his inability to properly unify members of the APC.
Barauin an interaction with newsmen in Bauchi says Sarkin Arewa lacks the temerityto question the leadership style of Uba Nana “because this problem is caused bythose we call political contractors who will go and collect money from thosethey feel are aggrieved and then come down to plot crisis in the party”.
“Ifsomething is an institution, there are rules of the game, there are procedures,and you don’t just wake up overnight and call for the resignation of theChairman without laid down rules, because the party itself is an institution.
“Ifyou study the antecedent of Sarkin Arewa, he is a person who joins only whenthe journey is rowdy, only when things are good, then he comes in and enjoy largesseof the party. “As soon as he understands that there is a rough road ahead, hebegins to create scenario that will portends some kinds of disarray just to gethis way out of that party.”
AlhajiBarau presumes that Sarkin Arewa will soon join the PDP, saying he lacks the perseveranceto stay “when the road is rough”.
Baraudescribed as unfortunate those attributing ythe failures of the APC in thestate to Uba Nana, saying there was no crisis as far as the APC was concerned.
“leadershipis from God, He is the one that gives leadership, if you believe in God, thenit’s God that has destined that this time around the APC will lose Bauchistate, and it’s not only Bauchi state that APC has lost the seat of a governor”,
he said.Recalled that a pro APC group in a press statement signed by its secretary Muhammad Auwal Matori and issued to Journalists on Sunday described Hassan Sherif Sarkin Arewa as a “serial loser, bootlicker and a sycophant of the highest degree”.
