Three Dead, 9 Injured in Bauchi Autocrash

A fatal auto crash has claimed three lives, leaving nine others injured in Bauchi State.

Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Yusuf Abdullahi confirmed that the crash occurred at about 24:13hrs and was reported at 24:23hrs at Gada Daya village, Ganjuwa local government along Bauchi-Kano expressway.

He said that the accident involved one Toyota Hummer bus with registration number GKA519 XA used for commercial purposes and was conveying 22 passengers as of the time of the crash.

The 22 persons involved in the crash comprised nine male adults, seven female adults, four male children and two female children.

Among those injured victims include three male adults, three female adults, two male children and one female child.

The deceased victims include two make adults and one female child.

The Sector Commander said the probable cause of the road traffic crash was a speed limit violation (SPV) and tyre burst (TBT).

Abdullahi disclosed that victims were taken to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi for treatment while the corpses were deposited at the mortuary of the hospital.
