A three-year-old Yasmin from Unguwar Gama, Nasarawa local council of Kano State, died after a series of threats by a 40-year-old Baba Idi who raped her on September 23, 2022.
Idi reportedly used candies to lure the minor into his room where he perpetrated the heinous act. Subsequently, Yasmin would repeatedly report to her mother that the man threatened to slaughter her.

“Yasmin said he threatened to cut her throat with scissors and throw her to cats because she is scared of cats,” Northern Blog posted on Twitter. “She kept pleading with her mother not to tell her father because he had threatened her not to.”
WikkiTimes learnt that the family reported the case to the police after confirming from doctors that Yasmin had been raped.
However, when the family alongside the victim and suspect convened at the Kano State Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Yasmin immediately went hysterical upon sighting the suspect, begging him not to kill her as he had earlier threatened.

“Umma, he said he will cut me with scissors and throw me to the cats, please don’t tell Abba,” the baby reportedly cried to her mother.
The hysteria was reported to have resulted in a fever, which led to the girl’s death three days later on the evening of September 29, 2022.
When contacted, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the spokesman for Kano Police Command, confirmed the incident to WikkiTimes. He said an investigation is ongoing and the public would be updated two days from now.
