The federal road linking Bauchi and Kano through Babaldu in Jigawa State has been washed away by heavy flooding that occurred last night.
The downpour caused a section of the road between Malamawar Gangara and Babaldu to collapse, rendering the route impassable for travelers.
WikkiTimes reports that flooding had destroyed Kano-Maiduguri Road in Bauchi state where transportation has been disrupted last week.
This incident followed a strong rainfall on Sunday night, which led to the overflow of a nearby river and the subsequent destruction of the road.
As a safety measure, the road has been closed to all traffic.
Travelers are advised to avoid using this route until repairs are completed and to consider alternative, safer routes to prevent accidents.
No specific timeline has been provided for the commencement of repairs. However, road maintenance authorities are expected to take swift action to restore traffic flow in the area as soon as possible.
