Tribunal: PDP, Other Party’s Petitions Adjourned to Tuesday

The five-member panel of the Presidential Election Tribunal has announced that its pre-hearing session which opens the legal fracas on the 2023 presidential elections would commence with three petitions while two others would be entertained tomorrow.

WikkiTimes had reported that the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal would pre-hear petitions challenging the February 25 election results today.

The panel led by Justice Haruna Tsammani said the three petitions to be pre-heard today Monday are petitions filed by Action Alliance (AA) marked: CA/PEPC/01/2023, Action Peoples Party (APP) marked: CA/PEPC/02/2023 and Peter Obi & Labour Party (LP) marked: CA/PEPC/03/2023. However, the party withdrew its petition.

Justice Tsammani said the court has scheduled a hearing on the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) marked: CA/PEPC/04/2023 and Atiku Abubakar & the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) marked: CA/PEPC/05/2023 for Tuesday.

He assured that every litigant would be satisfied with the verdict at the end of the case, advising the counsels against making sensational comments.

Other members of the panel include Justice Stephen Adah, Justice Monsurat Bolaji-Yusuf, Justice Boloukuoromo Moses Ugo and Justice Abbah Mohammed.

The five separate petitions challenge the declaration of Bola Ahmed Tonubu as the winner of the February Presidential polls at the tribunal in Abuja.
