Troops of the Nigerian Army have killed a notorious bandit Kachalla Saleh in Wase LGA of Plateau State.
Saleh alongside other members of his gang were killed when operatives of Forward Operation Base (FOB) of Operation Safe Haven, positioned in Wase LGA attacked his camp.
“In a successful operation, operatives of the Nigerian Army have ambushed a bandit camp in Wase Local Government Area, Plateau State, neutralizing multiple bandits, including the notorious kingpin, Kachalla Saleh”, tweeted Eons Intelligence, an intelligence sharing platform.
Saleh had, prior to the army invasion of his camp, stormed Dogon Ruwa Community in Bashar District of the Wase LGA last week where he was repelled by local vigilantes.
Abdullahi Shu’aibu, a member of local vigilante group in the area said they have already received intelligence about the bandits’ planned attack, thus positioning themselves in strategic places including where bandits hid their motorcycles.
“The bandits entered homes and selected individuals for abduction, unaware that vigilantes were waiting near their motorcycles. As they attempted to escape, we engaged them, killing three. Sadly, one of our own was also killed in the exchange,” he said.
