Two Fedpoly Bauchi Students, Others In Police Net For Cultism

One Zaharaddeen Hassan, an ND I student of Federal Polytechnic Bauchi (FPTB) and Felix John, a HND I student of the same institution are in police net for alleged cult activities.

The duo were arrested along with one Eric Nuhu, a final year student of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi (ATBU) and Daniel Maska who hailed from Karu LGA of Nasarawa State. They are being interrogated by the police for being members of a notorious cult group, ‘Black Axe.’

SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, Spokesperson of Bauchi State Police Command disclosed this to reporters in a statement on Friday in Bauchi. 

“During interrogation, the first and second suspects confessed to have been invited by one of their classmates named Abbas Apeh ‘m’, a 500-level student of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Bauchi and were initiated into the cultism group on 02/09/2023 around midnight.

“The third and fourth suspects confessed to have since been members of the cult group long known as Black Axe, their group members invited them to join the initiation event of the newcomers which took place at a location on the outskirts of Bauchi metropolis along Kano-Bauchi road,” the statement read in parts. 

Wakil added that efforts are on top gear to arrest the fleeing accomplices, after which the suspects will be charged to Court for the prosecution of the established Offences accordingly. 

WikkiTimes reports that both Federal Polytechnic Bauchi and ATBU proscribed cultism in their various Students’ Hand Books.
