Unknown Gunmen Invade Taraba Village, Kill 10

Unknown gunmen suspected to be bandits have invaded Yangtu town, in Takum local government area of Taraba State killing ten people.

The bandits who first blocked the Takum-Ussa road were said the have killed passengers on the road before invading the village.

BBC Hausa reported that the incident happened on Friday evening, where ten people were feared killed by the yet-to-be-identified heavily armed terrorists.

In a telephone interview with WikkiTimes, Usman Abdullahi, the spokesman for Taraba Police Command said efforts are ongoing to trail the assailants and to restore normalcy in the affected area.
He added that a joint team of police and soldiers were on a manhunt for the assailants.

“It was an attack by unknown gunmen where ten people were killed. As of now, the Commissioner of Police has deployed additional personnel to the area that comprised of an anti-kidnapping unit, Special Tracking Force, Mobile Police Force and a joint team of soldiers from 93 Battalion, Takum. They are in the town to restore normalcy and also to apprehend the suspected herders that carried out the attack,” he said.
