The Police in Borno State have set free Adamu Alhaji Ibrahim, the husband of Fatima Bukar who was murdered at Gidan Dambe Area of Maiduguri, the capital of the state after arresting principal suspected killers.
Wikkitimes had over the weekend reported that the police had arrested Adamu Alhaji Ibrahim and his friend Bukar Wadiya for alleged involvement in the murder of the former’s wife based on the absence of substantial proof of housebreaking at their residential house and alleged misunderstanding between the couples.
However, the police in a press statement by Sani Kamilu Muhammed, the spokesman of Police Command in the state, said following a thorough investigation, they have arrested the suspected killers of Fatima, saying that the suspects were traced through the stolen mobile phone of the deceased.

“It could be recalled that on the 17th October 2023 at about 1800hrs the Command received a report of a case of culpable homicide from Gwange Division involving the death of a housewife one Fatima Alh Bukar ‘F’ of Gidan Dambe Area, Maiduguri. Equally, in an effort to ensure openness and transparency in the investigation, the command employed intelligence-led policing to get to the root of the incident.
“In furtherance of the investigation, it was discovered that the deceased cellphone was missing at the scene of the incident, therefore investigation was narrowed to tracking the IMEI NUMBER. the police efforts yielded positive results leading to the arrest of the following suspects; Ibrahim Mustapha, Usman Yusuf, Muhammed Yunus, Nuhu Mohammed and Ismaila Mohammed Barka all males of Gwange General Area Maiduguri Metropolis, who were involved in the missing of the deceased infinix Hot30i handset”, Sani said in the statement.
He added that the 23-year-old principal suspect, Abatcha Bukar confessed to the killing of the deceased.
Sani added that exhibits recovered include Infinix Hot 30i and a Photograph of bruises on the fingers of Abatcha Bukar.
