Bandits fleeing military offensive abandoned their firearms, motorcycles and kidnapped civilians.
This was disclosed in a 59-second video tweeted by Zagazola Makama, a counterinsurgency analyst and security expert in the Lake Chad region.
In the video, Nigerian troops were seen giving chase to the bandits in their enclave.
The bandits, who rode on motorcycles carrying their abducted victims, were subdued by the forces.
“In this Video, the troops left their vehicles to chase bandits on foot. They later engaged the bandits in a Face-to-Face gunbattle, killing some of them and forcing others to flee and abandon their motorcycles and rifles.

“They also abandoned some abducted victims that were later rescued by the troops,” Zagazola tweeted.
Although the location of the gunfight couldn’t be independently verified, WikkiTimes understands the onslaught is part of the ongoing clampdown on the terrorists after the military suffered heavy casualties last week in Niger State.
