Vigilante groups have intercepted a truck conveying 25 people who were bungled and smuggled into Jos, the Plateau State capital.
The truck was intercepted along Bauchi road on its way to Bauchi, Gombe and Yobe states.
Speaking to WikkiTimes, a vigilante on duty who spoke on condition of anonymity said, “we intercepted the 25 people who smuggled themselves into this truck carrying sacks of salt.
“They were coming from Port Harcourt and had escaped every security check point until they got to Bauchi road,” he said.
Shehu Bala, the transition chairman of Jos North LGA who visited the scene of the arrest immediately invited mobile court to charge them.
“The mobile courts were invited and twenty of them were fined ten thousand naira each.
“Two of them who are indigenes of Plateau state were ordered to be quarantined for two weeks while the remaining were fined N10, 000 each by Hon Magistrate Roseline Barhaje”, he added.
