WATCH: Kano Man Gets 40 Strokes of Cane, 33 Months Imprisonment for Urinating on Grave

Abdullahi Umar, a 28-year-old resident of Gama, in C Nassarawa Local Government Area of Kano State has been sentenced to 33-month imprisonment with 40 strokes of cane for urinating on a deceased person’s grave in the township graveyard.

WikkiTimes learnt that the convict had, had a feud with the deceased’s son, Abubakar Mai-Abinduniya before his mother’s death.

A Sharia court in Kano, presided over by Khadi Nura Yusuf-Ahmad, however, found Umar’s action contravening the Sharia law and as such, sentenced him.

In a video clip posted on Twitter, Umar was spotted lying on the floor as another caned him. 

According to the prosecution counsel, Aliyu Abideen, the case was earlier reported in Kano Sharia court on August 13 that Umar and one Mummunai (now late) was seen in Maidille village cemetery, urinating on Mai-Abinduniya’s late mother’s grave whom they earlier had a misunderstanding with.

The prosecution council noted that the offence contravened the provisions of Sections 120, 212, 341, 275 and 404 of Kano State Sharia Law.
