We Will Crush Bandits in Zamfara, Says Governor Dauda

Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal has vowed that his administration will bring an end to the lingering insecurity bedeviling the state.

Lawal, while on a visit to training camp for Zamfara Community Protection Guards in Gusau, said the state government is ever ready to deploy all available resources at its disposal in the fight against banditry and series of kidnapping and ransom collections perpetrated by non-state actors in the state.

According to him, his administration will not relent untill it secure the state. He noted that the Community Protection Guards selected across the local government areas of the state will help to nip in the bud, security issues in their various localities.

The governor who said the guards will be equipped with various arms and ammunition needed after their trainings, tasked them to see the task ahead of them as sacrifice to their communities, adding that even if they lost their lives in the process, they would be considered as warriors who stood up to defend their kinsmen.

“We have promised to secure the state and we stand firmly on this. This is the reason why we said it is good to source for brave persons from the 14 local government areas alongside all the security agencies for this task.

“Bear it in your minds that we are ready to crush this heartless individuals. What you are doing is a Jihad (meaning Islamic war). So anyone that sacrificed his life to see the end of what we’re facing will be admitted to paradise God willing.

“As the state governor, I will give all necessary support to see the success of this. As soon as you finished this training, you will be armed with necessary equipments to protect yourself and your communities,” he told the guards.
