The investigative series by WikkiTimes have revealed how the LG Chairman aided and abetted deforestation in the protected Lame-Burra Forest Reserve.

The reports uncovered how the Chairman through a well-connected syndicate, sold out greater portions of the Lame-Burra Forest Reserve to tree fellers and strangers.

He allegedly made a lot of illegal money in the process under the pretext of having permission to that effect from the governor, allegations Governor Mohammed denied.

Hon. Zubairu however commended the administration of Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for its proactive measures in curtailing illegal deforestation in the State.

He said his leadership at the local level will align itself with the wider ambition of the governor in ensuring the sanity of protecting forests to prevent desertification and erosion.

He said he would not back down in supporting the state government’s efforts to curb desertification and address the herdsmen-farmers conflict across the local government area.

Zubairu called on the people of Ningi Local Government Area to lend their full support and cooperation to bring about sustainable development.
