Bauchi State Governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has disclosed why he is a better candidate for the 2023 presidential election than a former vice president, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
Mohammed who was speaking on Friday when he received a report from leaders of the People’s Democratic Party who toured 16 states of the north to canvass support for him to be president said Atiku Abubakar will not be favoured by age and his repeated failed attempts.
The Governor noted that he is still consulting with critical stakeholders across the country before he finally decides whether to contest or jettison the idea.
He stated that the two of them should sit and reach a consensus so that the North-East can present a single most qualified candidate for the election.

Mohammed who argued that although Atiku Abubakar has given so much to Nigeria, fatigue and old age have overtaken him.
A said he will unify the country and advance its progress when given the mandate.
He then commended the committee for working assiduously to produce the report, adding that he is so impressed by the support he is receiving from PDP leaders across the North.
In his earlier remark, the committee Chairman, Senator Adamu Ibrahim Gumba, urged Governor Bala Mohammed to hasten to declare for the 2023 presidential election.
“In addition to your qualifications, courage and antecedents as FCT Minister, your role in spearheading the doctrine of necessity that saved this country from collapse in the hallowed Chambers of the National Assembly, makes you a qualified candidate for the 2023 presidency.
He said only Jigawa, Kano and Sokoto states requested that other contestants from other parts of the country should be allowed to contest so that the party can produce the best candidate.
