WikkiTimes’ e-Paper; Highlights of the 5th Edition

WikkiTimes, a Bauchi-based investigative and data journalism outlet, in the fifth edition of its e-paper, archived some stories and impacts published in the last seven days.

Despite its investment in security, Bauchi State government seems to be overwhelmed about continuous banditry attacks ravaging some local councils of the state.

Bala Mohammed, the state governor recently told residents to rise up and defend their communities from assailants.

So far, armed bandits have killed 20 locals  and wounded several others in villages surrounding Duguri District of Alkaleri LGA in Bauchi state.

A few days back, WikkiTimes reported how a Gombe-based Islamic cleric collected N20,000 to change a student’s genotype from AS.

The student told WikkiTimes he was convinced by the cleric’s sermon during a Juma’at prayer where he claimed weak genotypes could be altered.

In one of its impact stories, WikkiTimes reported that Kwara State Government has recruited 40 doctors, nurses and pharmacists for Offa General Hospital. Hitherto, the platform reported on the poor condition of the health center.

Following the collaborative work, Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) mobilized workers to the site and patched some failed sections of the road.

Tracka, a project monitoring and public accountability organization, had tweeted that over N200 billion were wasted on rehabilitation of the road between 2020 and 2022.

Some other compelling stories are, however, featured in the fifth edition of our e-paper.
