WikkiTimes Launches Internship Program, to Train Next-Generation Journalists

WikkiTimes, known for its investigative and data journalism, is launching an internship program targeted at both undergraduate and graduate students passionate about investigative journalism, data analysis, and fact-checking. This initiative aims to cultivate a new generation of journalists adept in narrative-driven reporting and investigative depth.

The program promises real-world journalism experience, allowing interns to collaborate with expert reporters, editors, and data analysts in a vigorous and challenging setting.

Haruna Mohammed Salisu, the outlet’s publisher, revealed, “We have enlisted the support of skilled professionals from a range of newsrooms to guide and instruct the interns across various reporting disciplines. Our goal is to prepare, mentor and train the interns in a variety of reporting skills.

The internship program is structured to provide a comprehensive learning experience, encompassing various aspects of journalism such as research, reporting, data analysis, fact-checking and storytelling. 

Interns will be directly involved in ongoing investigative projects, contributing to research efforts, data collection, and the crafting of compelling narratives.

While entries commences today, application closes on Saturday, March 23rd, 2024.
