Wole Soyinka Center Begins Two-day Media Parley Tomorrow

The Wole Soyinka Center for Investigative Journalism (WSCIJ) has completed arrangements to commence its two days annual media lecture tomorrow. 

WikkiTimes gathered that this year’s WSCIJ lecture themed ‘Building a Resilient Nigerian Media and Democracy’ will hold virtually between July 12 to 13. 

High-profile media experts billed to speak on day one of the lectures include Balarabe Ilelah, Director-General of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC); Adedoja Allen, Managing Director/CEO of City FM 105.1; Christoph Plate, Director Media Programme, Sub-Saharan Africa Konrad Adenauer Foundation; Taiwo Fagbule, Editor BusinessDay and Anita Eboigbe, Operation Lead Big Cabal Media.

However, Amaka Okoye, West Africa correspondent for Deautch Welle (DW) will moderate the session.  

Speakers lined up for the second day of the parley are Ropo Sekoni, Board Chairman of WSCIJ; Toun Okewale-Sonaiya, Chief Executive Officer of Women Radio; Subomi Plumptre, Co-Founder of Volition Capital Investment Limited; Idayat Hassan, Director of Center for Democracy and Development and Augustine Agbonsuremi, Executive Director of Progressive Impact Organisation for Development. The session will be moderated by Aliyu Tanko, Editor BBC-Hausa.

Women Radio Receives 104 Entries for Maiden ‘ReportHer’ Awards

This year’s lecture is the 15th in the series organised by the centre. 

During the 14th WSCIJ Annual Media Lecture Series, panellists harp on robust media structures at the grassroots as tools for entrenching viral democracy in the country.
