Women In Politics: AbdulRazaq’s Aide Lauds Participants, Community

The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to  Kwara Governor on Youth Engagement, Mrs Kaosara Adeyi, has commended the commitment and resilience of women in the state.

He also lauded the focus and cooperation of participants of Emerging Women In Politics (EWIP) and members of Ila-Oja host community.

Adeyi made the commendation while inaugurating the renovated public primary school in Ila-Oja, Asa Local Government Area, on Tuesday.

According to her, the one-month intensive mentorship programme involved presentations from notable female politicians within and outside the state.

She said it also featured classes on leadership, public speaking, personal branding and community development, inter-team contest and competitions and community development service project.

The special aide said the 62 participants were women of various age groups, professions and occupations, who had also gathered resources to refurbish a public primary school in their community.

“I wish to appreciate the commitment, resilience, focus and cooperation of the participants.

“I also applaud members of the community for allowing the participants to make impact in the lives of the young people,” Adeyi said.

Wife of the Governor of Kwara, Amb. Olufolake AbdulRazaq,  expressed her happiness and satisfaction on the quality of achievements and exploits of the participants.

Mrs AbdulRazaq recommended that the EWIP mentorship sessions ought to be a continuous programme as it would help women to build capacity for sustainable development.

The participants commended AbdulRazaq’s administration for improving their lives and promised to optimise the lessons learnt.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the women were drawn from the 16 local government areas of the state.

Present at the programme were the Programme Coordinator, Mr Shamsudeen Aderoju; Dr Jamila Bio, SSA SDGs; Mrs Toyosi Thomas, SSA NGO; Mrs Rabi Manch, SSA Legal to Kaduna State Governor; Mrs Abiodun Essiet, SA to the Chairman, AMAC, Abuja; Mrs Saadatu Modibbo Kawu, Kwara Commissioner for Education; and Dr Angel Adelaja-Kuye, SA Agriculture to Ogun governor.
