Work to maintain peaceful coexistence—Prof Bogoro tasks society for Peace studies and practice

Professor Suleiman Elias Bogoro, the Executive Secretary, Tertiary Education TrustFund has charged the society for peace studies and practice to intensify efforts in collaborating with relevant authorities in building peaceful coexistence for societal development.

Prof. Bogoro who is also a member of the board of trustees of the organization, made the call at the opening ceremony of the 13th annual international conference and general assembly of the society, with the theme “managing rural and urban violence in Nigeria, held at Redeemers University, Ede, Osun state.

Represented by Prof. Isaac Adewale Albert, Bogoro, express his disavowal over the persisted raise on physical and domestic violence amongst people, adding that, government at all levels should give the desired attention in maintaining peace.

He informed the gathering that the society for Peace studies and practice was engaging important personalities, academics and other stakeholders with the view to complimenting government efforts of ensuring peaceful and free society devoid of violence.

In his remarks, the National President of the society, Dr. Nathaniel Danjibo, who traced the history of the society said, the society has achieved tremendous successes in addressing various incidences of rural and urban violence in Nigeria.

The National vice President North, of the society, comrade Abdullahi Yelwa maintained that, urban and rural violence has been a source for concern to any serious minded government, hence, the need for proper action to address the evolving challenges.
