A Gombe based poultry farm has donated 3,000 pieces of egg to school children in commemoration of the World Egg Day, 2024.
AIT Integrated Farms Ambassador, Hauwa’u Adamu Saraki, while distributing the egg said the gesture was aimed at promoting healthy nutrition in Gombe on Friday.
She noted that it also meant to raise awareness on the benefits of egg consumption, especially amongst children to achieve a balanced diet.
Also, Executive Director of the farm, Abubakar Inuwa Tata noted that eggs are very nutritious and rich in protein, saying “We believe that providing these eggs to school children is a great way to promote healthy eating habits from a young age.”
He added that the children were excited to receive the eggs, which serve as a reminder of the importance of proper nutrition for growth and development.
At least five schools which include Korea Primary School, Barunde, Buhari Estate primary school, Jauro Abare Nomadic School, Tudun Wada Primary School, Early Child Education Jauro Abare and Nayi Nawa benefitted from the donation.
