Fatima Talba, a member representing Nangere/Potiskum federal constituency of Yobe State, has collaborated with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) to empower 500 graduates in the State.
The lawmaker through the partnership with SMEDAN trained the participants on essential skills in entrepreneurship, business management, and vocational training. Â
Speaking during the closing ceremony on Monday at the Federal College of Technical Potiskum, Talba emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship and self-reliance in addressing the challenges of unemployment.Â
She urged the beneficiaries to make the most of the skills acquired and strive to become job creators rather than job seekers and promised to give each beneficiary N50,000 after the training.
One of the beneficiaries, Garba Sulaiman expressed his gratitude to the lawmaker and SMEDAN for their initiative in empowering the graduates.
He commended their efforts in providing skills acquisition and empowerment training, which has paved the way for the beneficiaries to become self-sufficient.
