The speaker of the Bauchi state house of assembly, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Suleiman has been commended for recording tremendous achievements in the North east within one year of his tenure.
A press statement from the spokesman of the speaker, Comrade Abdul Burra said his boss who is also the Chairman, Northeast speakers forum got the commendation from the Northern Speakers Forum at the weekend in Kaduna state.
Burra said that the Forum applauded the outstanding performance of his principal, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y Suleiman and members of the Conference, for their remarkable achievements in one year.
He noted that the Acting Chairman of the Forum who is also the Speaker of Kebbi State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Isma’il Abdulmumini Kamba made the commendation while responding to a briefing on the domestication of Violence Against Persons Prohibition (VAPP) Act by Speaker Abubakar Y Suleiman during the Conference of Northern Speakers held in Kaduna.
Hon. Kamba who pointed out that Speaker of Bauchi state assembly has apart from succeeding in holding zonal meeting of the Speakers in conjunction with UNHCR in Yola, also facilitated a visit to the Hon. Minister of Finance for the extension of CSDP and other visitations.
According to him, Speaker Abubakar has also ensured the passage of VAPP Law in Bauchi State, virtual meetings of the forum, process of getting unified standing orders for the zone among others.
While describing the achievements as a giant strides and exemplary within one year, Kamba attributed it to the unity and synergism of the Northeast Speakers for the development of their subregion.
