Zaar Kingdom Begs Bauchi Gov To Relocate LG Headquarters To Tafawa Balewa Town

The District Head of Tafawa Balewa, Air Commodore Ishiyaku Komo Rtd has called on Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed to relocate Tafawa Balewa LG headquarters to Tafawa Balewa town.

The Gung of the Zaar Kingdom made the call at the 2021 Lamp Zaar festival, held in Tafawa Balewa.

The District Head explained that Tafawa Balewa town has so far remained peaceful and people live in peace and harmony with one another, hence the need for Government to consider bringing back the Local Government Headquarters.

He said people in Tafawa Balewa are going about their normal businesses without any breach of the peace so far recorded for years.

He said, Sayawa people have spread into various parts of the country and have continued to contribute towards the development of the nation through farming and other agricultural activities.

The retired military officer enjoined his people to maintain the already existing peace in the area, in order to pave way for more development in the area.

WikkiTimes can report that call of the district for the relocation of the LG headquarters may be in futility except if the State Assembly make amends of the existing law that relocated the LG Headquarters to Bununu.

This medium recalled that the relocation of Tafawa Balewa LG headquarters to Bununu was informed as a result of the lingering ethnoreligious conflict in Tafawa Balewa that has claimed lives and property for ages.

The relocation was implemented by then Bauchi Governor Isa Yuguda following the Bauchi Assembly’s passage of a bill into law that necessitated the relocation.

WikkiTimes can report that if the call for the relocation of the LG headquarters is anything to go by, the Assembly has to weigh in by making amendments to the existing law
