Zaki Born Philanthropist, Engr. Ayuba Dauda Katagum Launches Free ICT Centre for Students

Engr. Aybua Dauda Katagum, a Zaki born businessman and philanthropist has unveiled a new ICT  centre for Primary and Secondary School students at Zaki Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

Unveiling the centre on Saturday at Central Primary School Zaki, Engr Ayuba said the gesture was to support primary and secondary school students bag relevant knowledge that will enable them to confront the challenges of the 21st century.

“The objective of this donation is to ensure that our pupils and students are well prepared and equipped with sophisticated ICT skills that will enable them to compete favourably with their peers anywhere in the world.

“As individuals, it’s high time we imbibe the culture of self-help in order to assist the less privilege in the society, because when Allah blesses you and you decided not to help or give back to society, then that is not good because the inability of wealthy individuals to help is the result of the moral decadence we are witnessing today”,  Engr Ayuba stated.

He said; “when we continue to allow the children of the less privilege roam our streets helpless, they will constitute nuisance that will become inimical to our collective progress as a people.”

Engr Ayuba said the idea of the centre was to support pupils and students of Zaki local government; “And to personally give back to my own community because Zaki has done so much to me as an individual, and it’s time to give back.”

Receiving the centre on behalf of the students, Isah Dattuwa, the headmaster of Zaki central Primary School described the gesture as timely.
