Zamfara state police command has debunked the rumors of an attack that allegedly led to the adjournment of PDP presidential candidate’s tribunal in Abuja.

relations Officer, SP mohamed Shehu in astatement issued to press in Gusau, said there was no any attack by bandits onanyone on any highway in the state.SP Shehu said criminalactivities in Zamfara have been downsized to 98 percent since the inception ofthe ongoing peace and dialogue initiative in the state.
The command expresseddismay over the publication on some national dailies on which allegedly saidAtiku’s witnesses were attacked by bandits on their way from Zamfara to Abuja,a situation that forced them to flee into the bush.
The statement refutedthe entire story, describing it as “misleading and a calculated attempt toundermine the current effort of both the state government and the police tobring lasting peace for social and economic development in the state.”
The statement alsoappealed to media organizations to verify their information before publication.
It would be recalledthat, the police command had in recent weeks, rescued about 100 persons whowere kidnapped and held in captivity for months.
