The effort of Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, in restoring peace to the state and its environs has made his followers in Borno and even outside the state appreciate his administration and show their gratitude to almighty God.
The governor has played a vital role to control Boko Haram by working day and night in order to eject terrorists from the state. However, restoring peace has resulted in returning refugees to their various communities and towns, with all the traditional leaders such as village heads and elected politicians collectively.
Zulum built and reconstructed schools, hospitals, markets, roads, worship places, boreholes, among others to the villages with returnees. As a result of that many Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps are being shut down and some are yet to do so. To people from the shutdown camps, the governor gave out some amount of money to each and every mature individual for them to get something doing when they get back to their villages or when they stay in the state for those that are willing to stay in the state in order to be self-reliant.
There is now green light for farming activities in places like Maigumeri, Gubio, Gajiram, Monguno, and Kukawa with their adjourning villages such as Zamarmari, Dikwa, Jere, and Konduga as well as other places.
If the Borno State Governor will continue with this action the state will definitely return to its pride as the ‘Home of Peace.’
