Bauchi State Government is to introduce a road traffic management agency to be known as BAROTA for Traffic Control and to reduce road accidents.
Bauchi state commissioner of special Duties Turaki Moh’d Manga stated this when he paid a visit to Sector Commander Federal Road Safety Corp Bauchi.
Turaki Manga said modalities are being put inplace to ensure the take up of the agency after due consultation with relevantstakeholders.
According to the Commissioner very soon the stategovernment would ban illegal operation of motor parks along major streetswithin the metropolis.
He said his visit to FRSC is to partner withthe Corp in the actualization of the agency.
Responding the sector Commandant FRSC Abdulrazak Najume described the visit of the commissioner as timely.
Abdulrazak Najume said the number of officers and men of the command are inadequate for operation, saying that the introduction of BAROTA would help the command carry out its duties optimally.
The Commissioner paid a similar visit toCommandant Nigeria security and Civil Defence Corp NSCDC Bauchi and DivisionalPolice Officer DPO township.
The commandant NSCDC Halliru Usman assuredtheir total support to State government’s policies and programme at all time.
In his response the Divisional Police Officer DPO Township Bauchi Sulaiman Moh’d Tambuwal said they were ready to ensure enforce laws enact by both state and federal governments.
