At least eight businesspersons from Lanzai, a community in Darazo local government area of Bauchi State have died in a ghastly motor accident on Saturday.
The victims lost their lives in a head-on collision along the Kano-Zaria expressway while heading to Onitsha.
Bauchi State Governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed confirmed the incident in a Facebook post on his official page.
“We woke up with the sad demise of about 10 passengers from Lanzai district in Darazo local government. They died as a result of a ghastly motor accident,” he posted.
Also, a resident of Lanzai, Alhaji Lawan Lanzai told WikkiTimes that eight bodies were buried, adding that other victims of the accident are currently receiving medical treatment in an undisclosed hospital.
He said the entire community has been plunged into mourning after receiving the shock demise of the victims.
