Jibrin Allawa, a brother to one of the victims told WikkiTimes the incident took place on Tuesday evening around 4 pm.

“I spoke to him around 4 pm on Tuesday before, we had network glitch,” Allawa said. “I would later learned that he had been kidnapped by bandits.”

Allawa believes the marauders are taking advantage of the road to pocket ransom from families of their victims.

“The bandits are yet to contact us but we are still waiting for them,” he stated.

The two kilometres road has worn out, elongating travellers’ journeying hours, according to Allawa.

“Yet, there are no efforts from the authorities,” he said, adding that locals are making efforts towards mobilizing themselves to clear overgrown trees and fill potholes on the road.

However, kidnapping activities threatened contracting companies to abandon work on some roads in the state.

Last year, a Chinese expatriate was abducted on

Zumba-Galkogo in Erena, Shiroro LGA. Similarly, two Chinese citizens working on Lapai-Lambata road were also kidnapped by gunmen. This, according to locals, stalled progress on the road.
