Students of the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi have taken to the streets to protest the high rate of insecurity in their community.
According to reports gathered by WikkiTimes, the protest was triggered by an attack yesterday evening in Gwallameji, a community largely inhabited by students of the federal polytechnic.
During the attack, students and community members lost properties and food items to robbers with reports confirming a community resident was injured and is currently receiving treatment.
As of the time of filing this report, security personnel have been deployed to calm the situation with the school management assuring students of quick action to address their concerns.

Confirming the incident, Ward Head of Gwallameji, Sanusi Mohammed said the incident occurred last night, adding that a lot of students’ lodges were burgled by the suspected armed robbers.
He added that one of the residents of the community who was stabbed by the attackers died from injuries sustained.
Mohammed explained that, at the moment, security operatives, police and vigilantes, restored normalcy to the community.
