A Fulani Sociocultural Organization, Bandiraku Fulbe Youth Association (BFYA), in collaboration with Bizi Pay Mobile, with support from Jigawa Government has empowered 350 Fulani youths on mobile banking through a three-day workshop focused on financial inclusion and digital inclusiveness.
The workshop, which was held at the Manpower Development Institute, Dutse, aimed at creating awareness among Fulani youth on the importance of embracing digital education, acquiring skills and achieving self-reliance.
BFYA Jigawa State Chairman, Comrade Isah Abubakar Birnin Kudu, said that Participants, which were drawn from each of the 285 political wards across the state were trained on various aspects of digital financing, mobile money operations, and digital business development.
Comrade Birnin Kudu said that the association is committed to empowering Fulani youth through education and skills acquisition.
Speaking at the event, Governor Umar Namadi commended the organizers for their foresight in empowering the youth, emphasizing the importance of equipping the younger generation with ICT education and digital business skills to enable them to thrive in today’s competitive economy.
“This is a remarkable initiative, and I assure you that my administration will provide all the needed support.
The state’s agency for employment and youth empowerment will step in to support the group. We are committed to making Jigawa State a hub for the digital economy and innovation,” he said.
The event’s highlight was the conferment of an award on Governor Umar Namadi, recognizing him as the first governor to introduce palliative shops among his peers.
