Bauchi State Governor, Sen. Bala Mohammed has appointed a new Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and a Principal Private Secretary (PPS) weeks after resignation of his former SSG, Kashim Ibrahim.
The appointees are Alh. Aminu Hammayo his current commissioner for Budget and Multilateral Coordination as the new SSG and Alhaji Hashimu Kumbala as the PPS.
This is contained in a statement signed by Special Adviser Media and Publicity to the Governor, Mukhtar Gidado and made available to journalists in Bauchi Friday morning.
The statement read in part: “Alh . Aminu Hammayo , a seasoned administrator and public servant , has served Bauchi State with distinction in various capacities, earning a reputation for excellence, diligence, and unwavering dedication to public service.
“He was a one-time Secretary to the State Government and until his new appointment he was the Hon. Commissioner Budget and Multi-lateral coordination, Bauchi State.
“Alh.Hashimu Kumbala, an experienced administrator will serve as the Principal Private Secretary to the Governor. In this capacity, he will provide critical administrative and advisory support to the Governor, ensuring effective communication and coordination within the government. He was a retired permanent secretary and until his new appointment he was the Special Adviser to the Governor on General Service.”
Wikkitimes reports that the former SSG resigned recently but sources in the Government House alleged that the was forced to resign.
However, it was not clear what might have transpired between the SSG who once served as a placeholder to Governor Mohammed and his principal.
The statement added that the new appointees will be sworn in Friday 27th December 2024 at the Government House, Bauchi by 12noon.
