BREAKING: Sultan Declares Saturday First Ramadan, Confirms Moon Sighting

Alh. Muhammad Saad Abubakar, Sultan of Sokoto, has declared Saturday, March 1 as the first day of Ramadan in Nigeria after the crescent moon has been sighted in different places. The announcement marks the formal commencement of the Ramadan fast in Nigeria.

The Sultan, in a live broadcast Friday evening, said many community and religious leaders across the country have confirmed that the crescent has been sighted after verifying claims.
