Chairperson of ASUU in the university, Comrade Auwal Nuhu disclosed this in a statement made available to reporters on Monday.

He said the decision to suspend the strike was taken at an emergency congress meeting held on the 14th of December 2024 at the Yuli Campus following fruitful engagements with the Visitor to the University, Governor Bala Mohammed.

Comrade Nuhu explained that ASUU signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bauchi government to address issues that necessitated the strike.

“These developments reflect the government’s dedication to advancing education in Bauchi State. The Congress commended Governor Mohammed for his proactive approach.

“As a result of these developments, Congress unanimously resolved to suspend the strike action with immediate effect,” the statement read in part.

Comrade Nuhu said ASUU will remain vigilant and committed to ensuring that the agreements reached are honored.
