75-Years-Old Man in Police Net for Attempted Rape

The Police in Adamawa State have arrested a 75-year-old man for attempting to rape a 25-year-old woman who visited him in his village.

The suspect, Daniel Jaja, a resident of Mukivinyi village of Hong Local Government Area (LGA), was said to have invited his victim to his house and forcefully tried to have canal knowledge of her until she resisted.

The victim, who noticed the ill motive of her host, allegedly used sharp razor blades to cut his private part to prevent him from his nefarious act.

A statement by Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, Adamawa State Police Command’s spokesperson, said the incident happened on 18 November, and the suspect is now on admission at the hospital receiving treatment for the injuries he sustained while attempting to rape his visitor.

“The suspect, Daniel Jaja, 75years old, on October 18, 2023, in Mukuvinyi village, Hong local government area, was said to have invited his victim to his house and suddenly advanced forcefully to have an unlawful carnal knowledge of her until she resisted”.

“Investigation, so far, revealed that the victim, while trying to prevent the act, used a Razor blade and cut the Penis from penetrating her, leaving him with a serious injury now on admission in hospital receiving treatment”, he said.

According to him, the Adamawa Commissioner of Police CP Afolabi Babatola, who frowns at the ugly incident, directed the officer in charge of the family support unit of the command to take over the investigation and ensure diligent prosecution.
