A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State, Uba Dan’arewa, was suspended for attacking Vice President-elect, Kashim Shettima.
The chieftain was suspended by party officials in Doubile ward of Yola North local council.
During a press conference, Mallam Usman Mohammed Gidado, assistant secretary of the party in Yola North 26 out of 29 officials from the ward and local government levels supported the move.
He said Uba had grossly breached the party norms of anti-party, disloyalty, and backstabbed some party critical and senior members, according to TG News.
Gidado said the chieftain was invited over allegation leveled against him, especially the viral audio accredited to him attacking Shettima as a nobody who is fueling the crisis in Adamawa APC.
Gidado added that Uba has failed to answer questions labeled against him at the disciplinary committee but said he has appeared before the state disciplinary committee and has no business talking with them.
“After cross-checking all facts on the ground and thoroughly investigating all allegations we have discovered that Alhaji Uba Dan’arewa has without no shadow of a doubt committed offenses that breach our party’s constitution and we are therefore expelling him from the party,” Gidado said
