Amid Cash Crunch, Robbers Take Victims’ Money Through PoS Machine

Some armed robbers reportedly stormed a community in Ibadan, Oyo State and robbed residents using a Point of Sale (PoS) machine.

The armed robbery suspects made the heist around 01:00 am on Saturday in Eleshin area of Olomo community in Apete, Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State, according to Punch.

It was reported that the PoS-wielding robbers used the machine to transfer money from the victims’ bank accounts.

One of the residents who spoke on the con edition of anonymity said: “The armed robbers got to the area at the midnight around 1am. They operated freely. They came with a POS machine and transferred some amount of money, which cannot be specified at the moment, from one of their victim’s accounts. They also transferred an undisclosed amount of money from his wife’s account and left.

“They also went away with two phones, iPhone 11 Pro Max and XS Max,” the source added. According to Punch, the hesit had ben reported at Apete Divisional Police Headquarters.

But Adewale Osifeso, Police Public Relatiosn Officer (PPRO) for Oyo Police Command could not be reached for comment. He neither respond to calls bnor an enquiry sent by WikkiTimes.
